Crown lengthening can be used to help extend the surface of the teeth, leading to less of the gum being on show when we smile.
In some cases, crown lengthening is used in conjunction with another treatment – for example, it might be necessary for the application of a crown. In other situations, crown lengthening can be used for purely cosmetic reasons, allowing us to help you find a happier smile.
With crown lengthening we can extend the surface of the tooth, thereby leaving less of the gum on show. This treatment requires great skill and dexterity from our dentists, but can be achieved in just one appointment, meaning you could be leaving the practice with a happy new smile. We want crown lengthening to be a positive experience for everyone, even nervous patients. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable throughout the process. During the treatment, we’ll administer local anaesthetic so you’re comfortable throughout before shaping and contouring the gums, allowing for more of the tooth surface to be on show.
