Asmaa is a Clinical Lecturer at the School of Dentistry, University of Leeds, an Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and acting as the Lead for the tooth wear rehabilitation service at the Leeds Dental Institute. Following the completion of her Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2010, she completed her Master’s Degree (MSc) with distinction and PhD in the field of resin composite materials at Leeds.
She also completed 5 years specialist training programme in Restorative Dentistry, undertaking extensive specialist training in Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontology at the Leeds Dental Institute. Following that, she was awarded the Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry and Membership in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Asmaa was also awarded the prestigious Gold Tyson Medal for the most meritorious performance in the Prosthodontics speciality exam.
Clinically, Asmaa has an interest in rehabilitating tooth wear, failing dentition, patients with missing teeth requiring full mouth rehabilitation, and all aspects of fixed and removable prosthodontics, including dental implants. She is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and supervision of postgraduate projects, including MSc and PhD students. Asmaa is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications and lectures at various national and international conferences, and she has been awarded multiple prizes for her work.
Asmaa is actively involved in research in the field of dental materials, resin composites, bioceramic sealers, tooth wear, adhesion, light curing and amalgam alternatives, as well as clinical solutions in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics with emphasis on digital workflows in dentistry.
